Interns: Party with The Queen in NYC

Summer- the season for bikinis, boats, baseball and maybe most of all in cities like New York, student interns!

How do you spend summertime in NYC?

The academic calendar may only span 9 months, but forward-thinking collegiates know that summer “vacations” are the best time to get to work.  Companies begin scouting summer interns early; by spring break, the internship buzz is full-blown.  Competitive students take a break from comparing GPAs to stack their resumes against each other and work towards securing the best summer gigs.

When it comes to stacking resumes, young entrepreneur Lauren Berger is the Intern Queen.

Lauren Berger

Literally; she is the CEO of the Intern Queen.com; a consulting resource for young professionals and the companies that want them. She held 15 internships as an undergraduate,  has authored a book, “All Work No Pay” of advice for entering the job market as an intern, and now speaks all over the world on the topic.

So while summer might always be largely celebrated as the season for hitting the beach instead of the books, Lauren Berger’s second annual Intern Queen party on July 31st will celebrate hundreds of interns who chose to hit the office during the sunshine-y months.

Last year, 800 of the city’s interns showed up for a lucrative panel session and networking experience.
This year’s panel will include coordinators for Ogilvy, The Make-a-Wish Foundation, The Rachel Ray Show, Viacom, AOL, and The Smithsoniaian Institute and will be happening at 404NYC at 404 Tenth Avenue.
The event is free for all interns, press, executives and intern coordinators.
